Townsville Night Life
Townsville happens to be the largest tropical city in Australia. Along with the title of North Queensland’s largest community comes lofty expectations regarding the city’s lifestyle and leisure offerings.

While the region is recognised for its natural beauty and proximity to one of our nation’s most precious natural wonders, the Great Barrier Reef, Townsville is also earning a well-deserved reputation as the norths ‘after dark’ capital.

The cool of the early evening is celebrated in Townsville, with many locals heading to one of the large selection of roof top bars and outdoor venues to quench their thirst after a long day. The city also celebrates a vibrant and enthusiastic live music scene, from small intimate venues to larger concert halls usually hosting gigs at the the back end of the week.
Pubs & Clubs

Largely based around Flinders Street, Townsville’s nightlife is lively, exciting and friendly, all the while maintaining a very easygoing, Queensland atmosphere. Whether you are after a high class cocktail, a beautiful sunset view or a serious party vibe, Townsville has something for you when the sun goes down. Many of the city’s late night venues call Flinders Street home, icluding the renowned Mad Cow Tavern, 237 Flinders, Townsville Brewery, Molly Malones, FLNDRS Bar & Nightclub, and the Heritage Exchange. If you are looking for a little more subdued atmosphere, Hooch and Fellow, Ranbutan or one of the various establishments in Flinders Lane will be more to your taste.
A number of Townsville’s most popular after dark venues are located along the iconic ‘Strand’ shorefront, taking advantage of the intoxicating ocean vistas and cooling sea breeze. Join the throng of early evening partygoers who flock to this part of the city to commence their evenings. You will find an abundance of cocktail and dining options to choose from, including the iconic Seaview Hotel (pictured below), The Watermark, Anelay, Shorehouse, C Bar, and Longboards Bar & Grill, amongst others. The Strand is the ideal location to grab a front row seat to one of the region’s most breathtaking attractions, its postcard sunsets.
